In early 2023, Vadara released the Sakura design as a part of their Natural Innovation Collection, which features bold and striking designs that are non-neutral in color. Sakura is inspired by Ijen Blue quartzite and characterized by its soft off-white background with blue-grey and warm brown. Dominant veins are blue-grey, complimented with thin grey and rust accents.
“Until now, no other quartz supplier has succeeded in replicating Ijen Blue since it is too technically challenging,” said Ed Rogers, executive vice president of US Surfaces, parent company of the Vadara brand.
Vadara designers brought Sakura to life by utilizing handcrafted artistry to create its pattern and veining, as they do for each surface in the product lineup. However, it took over nine months to perfect a version that felt suitable to introduce.
Ijen Blue Quartzite is in short supply, varies immensely between bundles, and is expensive. This design could be a viable, cost-effective alternative with the performance characteristics of quartz. Sakura shows off Vadara’s capabilities and offers options with non-neutral colors, gaining the attention of designers and solidifying our position as the up-and-coming quartz leader.
